Central London – Hybrid

The opportunity

An award-winning public relations agency is looking for a PR Account Executive to join its travel and consumer/lifestyle team. It’s a great next step for someone with their first year or so of PR experience who wants to build a career in travel and consumer storytelling, working on well-known brands and getting real hands-on media experience from day one.

The agency is proudly “people first”. It has a close-knit, creative team with a reputation for strong media results and long-standing client relationships. You’ll be given responsibility early, with the support and training to grow quickly.

The role

You’ll support account teams across a portfolio of travel, consumer and lifestyle clients. Day to day, you will:

  • Write press releases, features and commentary to a high standard
  • Proactively pitch stories to secure coverage across national, consumer, travel, trade, broadcast and online media
  • Build relationships with travel and lifestyle journalists, bloggers and influencers
  • Handle media enquiries and coordinate interviews
  • Carry out research and data mining to build stories
  • Keep an eye on consumer and travel trends, cultural moments and the news agenda to spot timely opportunities
  • Track coverage and prepare detailed client reports
  • Contribute ideas to team and agency-wide brainstorms
  • Help develop and deliver strategic PR plans

There’s also the potential for overseas travel and hosting media on press trips.

About you

You’ll have around 9–12 months’ PR experience, whether in an agency, in-house or through internships. A background in consumer and/or travel PR is ideal, and you’ll be able to show a genuine enthusiasm for the sector, whether that’s come from your work, your studies, volunteering or your own travels.

You’ll also have:

  • Excellent writing skills and a real flair for storytelling
  • A good understanding of the UK media landscape
  • The confidence to pitch and the drive to land coverage
  • Strong organisation and a sharp eye for detail
  • The ability to react quickly to the news agenda and thrive in a busy press office
  • Social media know-how
  • An eagerness to learn, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

This role is best suited to someone who is ambitious, determined to get results and loves to travel.

If you are looking to carve out your career in travel and consumer PR, this could be the perfect role for you.

This client is unable to offer sponsorship of any kind or accept candidates on a visa currently so please only apply if you have the long-term right to work in the UK.
